Author's Note

I wrote these lyrics for a melody I had first. Many of my poems I turned into songs after I wrote them and years later found melody in them. This was fun to play. Cross pickin' guitar. I play bass, hammered dulcimer and tenor sax in my youth

i like the title ... it sparks all kinds of thoughts and feelings .. the turn surprised me .. all along I'm trying to decide what band or singer i hear singing this ... some one that has a billy-rock style .. i think that's the right term for a mix of country and rock and roll .. then when this becomes a love song against war .. and even further all the ways we hurt one another .. i started to recall the singer songwriters like Arlo Guthry, Joan Baez, Cat Stevens (i think he would do a great job with your song) .. love can never get old can it!?

Thanks E. I like the idea of Cat Stevens singing this. He might slow it down a bit. If I had to pick an old band, I could hear the Beatles doing this. Paul McCartney on lead. My new band pick would be the Flaming Lips.

"The Flaming Lips" ... it grabs ya for sure .. i played drums in HS years .. we called ourselves the "Midnight Walkers" ... what a time .. that was in the mid 60s .. i think your poem has what it needs to easily be a song ..
