Do I Know?A Story by NightHeartBattles
My first taste of human flesh was accidental. No, really, it was. I was swimming in a lake with my cousin and he kicked me in the face. Really and truly, that's what happened. If you don't believe me, read this: I didn't know what I was back then. It's not my fault if my older cousin decides to kick me in the mouth, is it? And the kick was accidental too. He dived. I didn't move out of the way fast enough. So really it was my fault. He would completely back me up on this, too. If you asked him. And if he was alive to tell you. I guess that's what caused me to enter this mental state of forgetfulness. I used to be kind of intelligent, you know. Now... I don't really remember much at all. It's all due to my incredible friends that I'm sitting here writing this. Of course, it's also due to them that I know who I am. Being a vampire isn't easy, you know. Well, if you live in my world, it's not so bad. I'm not one of those drink-human-blood-with-red-eyes kind of vampires. No, when I hunt, it's both blood and flesh. And all my friends are human. They've only been bitten once or twice. Oh yeah, and also, in my world, you can't drink all the blood in someone's body. It's entirely impossible. Really. All my friends would be dead by now if that was the case. Of course, so would my enemies... But at least in battle it does slow them down. A lot. But my friends don't mind. They know it's not my fault that I am what I am. I don't even remember being bitten. I was really young. I think it was right after the accident, though. All I remember was this dark shape... Then nothing. And I mean nothing. I'll try to remember. I'll try. What's my name again? Oh yeah. I'm Avery, by the way.
____________________________________________________________________________________ My first taste of human flesh was accidental. And it was my own. It was on my first hunt. I was just finishing off when I bit myself. I don't know how, or even why. Oh yeah! My name's Tess by the way. Just thought you should know that. And... I'm a werewolf. Don't get all freaked out. I don't attack humans. That's a horrid stereotype. In fact, wolves are actually afraid of humans. They wouldn't dream of even showing themselves! Although I am talking about real wolves here, I would like to add that I prefer to hunt as a wolf, and eat as a human. I don't see what people have against werewolves. Silly storybooks. We're quite nice actually. Just like any normal person. Not that you can call me normal. At least, my friends wouldn't even think about doing that. They all think I'm nuts. And I am. Absolutely crazy. Another cool fact about werewolves that you might not have known: I only have to hunt once a week. That saves a lot of time. And a lot less clothes covered in animal blood. Come to think of it, I'd better go down and see if they've been washed yet... ____________________________________________________________________________________ Yes. So. Now you know my sad story. Don't run away. I'm not all that bad. The speed and strength come in handy, too. Running is the main thing that's saved me from being beaten up like the other kids by those jerks in our neighbourhood. And my friends. They've never been hurt either. Well, now I think it's the whole get-away-and-stay-away-from-him-he's-a-vampire thing that keeps me safe. Well, I don't really care what it is. Thanks for reading. And not getting bored. I really appreciate it. Not many people care enough to sit down and read about a vampire's troubles. So, once again, thanks. I'll call on you the next time I need someone who'll listen. ____________________________________________________________________________________ Okay. You know I'm a werewolf. You haven't run away screaming. And now you know that you can trust us. And that we're kind. And that we're like any other normal people. Just with special dietary needs, like someone with allergies. Thanks for listening. Don't tell Avery this, but I read his sections. I agree. Not many people would sit down and read something like this. So a huge thanks to you! Really. I (we) appreciate it a lot. Bye bye! ____________________________________________________________________________________ Non-human diary entries by Tess and Avery.
