Waiting

Waiting

A Poem by Bill

Wait here – I will return
The last words you lied to her
Even now they twist and burn
And so she waited, didn’t stir
Upon a road in the blackest night
Waiting alone for a life to live
Scared too much to know the fright
Shedding tears until none were left to give

Until the cold was just too much
Until the rain had soaked her through
Then she looked for a warm touch
Something that would shine true

She walked slowly at the first
Where she had last seen you leave
Surrounded by tears she knew thirst
For a love in which she cannot believe
Faster now she starts to run
Towards the light only she can see
Eternity for her without the sun
Is the only way she can be free

Until the light was just too much
Until her tears had soaked her through
No longer does she need a human touch
Now she sees the lies and knows the true

About
I like to write poetry; I would love to actually finish a work of fiction, mostly fantasy, historical fiction, science fiction. Life seems to crowd the stories in my head so that they have a hard tim.. more..
