apology in time

apology in time

A Poem by Bill

a shot in the dark

a drunken lark
a misguided god
unknown roads to trod

too far to see
too hard to be me
a final breath
just one more death

recoil in shock
trip over my block
see all my insides
watch as she cries

too hard to bear
so much to share
ignore the pain
shift the blame

not your fault
not worth my salt
my life unlived
your time to give

borrow the line
the sun will shine
when all is done
this course I run

Great rhyme scheme.
I especially like this stanza:

"too hard to bear
so much to share
ignore the pain
shift the blame"

I can relate to it a lot.

About
I like to write poetry; I would love to actually finish a work of fiction, mostly fantasy, historical fiction, science fiction. Life seems to crowd the stories in my head so that they have a hard tim.. more..
