Disappointment

Disappointment

A Poem by Bigtale

Disappointment

She was ready. Eyes fixed. Her confidence steady despite the pit in her stomach from not seeing a familiar face in the stands.

She too was ready. Ready for a new chance. A second go at getting it right.

Triumph...three stops later home and the thrill gone in a moment because the mirror in the crowd was not there reflecting her stride and effort.

Too complicated was a way of life for her. Why? No one knew but many felt the brunt of it.

Add this to the other curve balls and fouls at this special age and no wonder everything is critical immediate and painful...complicated not in the dictionary yet. Simple is the way of life.

Intentions are complicated. Showing up obvious. Keeping score with statistics that stay locked in memory the heavy fallout.

Redemption reads in her eyes and what was thought to not be so fragile is clearly still infinite colored glass. One wonders how the journey lite with both complication and simplicity will shine through.

To be saved by such redemption such light is there for her. Can she experience the aura of the colored glass no harm no foul?

Together they are woven somewhere between complicated and simple and days of light and disappointment.
