A BUG ILLUMINATING THE DARK

HAS EYES NOT SEEN
NOR STORIES BEEN TOLD
NOTHING ON THIS EARTH OR ANOTHER WOULD EXIST
WITHOUT THE ALPHA & OMEGA
DRIVES ME CRAZY
WE DON'T GIVE HIM A SINGLE OUNCE OF THANKS
GOING ABOUT OUR DAY LIKE HE DIDN'T MAKE US OUT OF CLAY
ROUND AND ROUND WE GO DOING WHAT EVER WE WANT
NEVER TRYING TO SEEK HIM TIL OUR DYING DAY CREEPS NEAR
NOT THIS GUY HE FLIES STRAIGHT TO THE LIGHT
ROUND AND ROUND THEY GO JUST TO SHOW THEY REMEMBER HIM
TRYING TO BE CLOSE AGAIN  FALLING OUT THE SKY
TO THERE UNTIMELY DEMISE FROM EXHAUSTION
LACKING THE  INTELLIGENCE IT'S JUST INCANDESCENT LIGHT
THEY REMEMBER BEING BORN THEY JUST SWARM BACK TO THE LIGHT
ATTEMPTING TO SHOW HOW GRATEFUL THEY ARE
THEY'RE ONLY BUGS
 THAT'S HOW THEY SHOW THERE LOVE

OK I'VE BEEN AT WORK WATCHING MOTHS FALL OUT THE AIR FOR DAYS AND THIS HAS BEEN ON MY HEART AND MIND LET ME KNOW WHAT U THINK MIND U I HOPE U LIKE IT THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I HAD TO WRITE THIS SOME HOW I DELETED IT BUT IT HAS CHANGED JUST A BIT BUT I HOPE YOU LIKE IT LET ME KNOW WHAT U THINK....I NEED TO GO BEFORE IM LATE FOR WORK......THANKS

Been thinking and speaking about all of this as of late with friends, how we wait until we are falling to ask for His guidance and love, when what we need to be doing is embracing it during the goodness just as much and as often. This was a great write!

Its the light that illuminates the bugs unless they are fireflies. But the image works with this slight alteration. Some religions go as far as to call HIm the Light. Yeah, that's in the Qur'an. We are by design in a state of loss but not the bug! Good write!

I like this poem. I have seem few bugs in my part of Michigan. No butterflies and other bugs. Nature give us many things to entertain us. I like as a child to watch the bugs at night. I like the logic of the ending of the poem. Thank you for a excellent poem.

yes ignorance to the fact that we need God to survive, versus the fact that a bug is ignorant to a source light that is not for survival....very few humans really look up to God for their survival...nor notice creation and give HIM credit, much like a bug going to a fake source of light...ignorance...
