Untold Stories of a Beautiful City

Untold Stories of a Beautiful City

A Poem by Jerome Alexander
"

It’s a poem about my home of New Orleans,La

"
Growin’ up in New Orleans was rough
Goin’ hungry is a possibility unless your people make enough
What’s not understood is there’s only two paths to follow
The path to do wrong
Or a path that keeps you on the straight and narrow
Got people reppin’ a different hood
Walkin around sayin’ man I wish that dude would
What the politicians want you to see all smiles gon’ be worn
Just wait till’ you go see what’s under tha’ bridge on Claiborne
Just look past Canal, The French Quarter,Bourbon, and the Superdome
Then actually sit down and it’s gon’ actually hit home
That the city of New Orleans is really fucked up
They try to hide the dirt of what’s really going on.
They want you to see the roses not the thorns
Can’t believe these b*****s try to hide what’s really goin’ on
But now you know
That when you visit New Orleans dats’ the s**t they ain’t gon’ ever show!

Sounds painfully honest. Good work.
