The Wrong Way

The Wrong Way

A Poem by Daniel Winters
"

I'm pretty tired of people telling me there's only one way to live, so I wrote this

"

An eternity spent behind her desk,

Her mind clouded and thoughts anywhere else.

The days never seem to end,

Nor the night get brighter.

Haunted by dreams of better days,

And chances left untaken.

Sometimes the wrong way can still be right.

But her feet fail her,

And her hands work too hard,

For a normal life,

Normally unwanted.

Abnormality is actually craved because the normal feels abnormal, if that makes sense. Anyway very relatable, almost lyrical.

I find this poem to be absolutely amazing. The poem about an adverage life is something we all can relate to. The boredom and loathing we all feel at some time is represented so well in this story. I can truely feel like I'M the girl in the poem, with the chances I never took. Just WOW! I think I'll reread this again and again, no doubt about it!
