Vaspard

A partner to man since time began,

Vaspard is the proverbial empathizer.

He shares his big heart with everyone,

Including the birds and the trees,

Feels sorry to hear of death,

Worries about children constantly,

About poor people without food,

Old folks who cannot care for themselves,

And a host of other things in a long list.

Well it started to get bad after a while,

He was starting to get angry about the world,

So he visited the dentist from time to time,

To have a teeth pulled so he'll spit blood,

That always cheered him up in a strange way,

Until he realized that he was running out of teeth.

So one day, out of shame and horrible remorse,

Vaspard took of his clothes and walked into the jungle,

Where he lived his life with the animals and trees

That he loved but couldn't do more for the world.

He's there today in the perfect paradise he sought,

And appears in the dreams of man from time to time,

To coax us into a greater concern for each other,

And to take the complete view of things,

Not just what works for us. To get involved.

They say you can hear him as you pass the forests,

It sounds like the voices of children playing.
