Chasing DamselsA Poem by Shin ( formerly known as ) Bidayahby Shin
Planes that go screeching to a halt, Fly over the nest of cranes in trees, Cars that horn impatiently, wait near geese, That float in lakes in the middle of greens, That folks come to walk in and ponder, About their lives lived now and before, When we ran as antelopes chased by leopards, Watched by eagles that soar in the blue above, Till we lived again as the human of the species, Whose feelings could soar above eagles, That chased fleeing damsels who like the chase, And pondered near lakes about their mystery, While planes fly overhead, landing after journeys, That we take to travel the wide world, What we know might always be there, For the human observes and he records, And we follow the rhythm of his impulses, Maybe he'll add a giraffe next, That'll help to take a new perspective, a panorama, Then will we understand, that understanding builds love, Love creates a caring for all, binds us to hearts, Where the leopard is the one who helps us, Think about ourselves, our rights and survival, While the human love prepares us to co-exists.
