Marching HomeA Poem by Shin ( formerly known as ) Bidayahby Shin
When Johnny comes marching home again, hurrah, hurrah, There never was then a ' me-first man,' hurrah, hurrah, The Brits were marching in downtown Kuala Lumpur, The Americans they returned to Phillipines with MacArthur, The colors, the music, the esprit de corps, Makes boy scouts of us all, to lend a hand to another, Yet in clandestine do we engage these efforts today, Hoping to revive again with effort what came easily before. Why, its easy isn't it? Just say we liked it. It was fun. It starts to roll from there. It was cool. Some new kids came into the block and we are finding Ways to get along, slowly at first, then hop along, I guess some people would like some encouragement, Its the internet isn't it? Everybody knows everything, They can check, just like that, why listen to another? What's happening to a little innovativeness, imagination? And yet within this new megolith, life will find a way, More than an ionic community....a field where we can meet, A world in which we bring our eyes to see, not Be clicked around by the electronic signals in our brain, Of course we can. Shut down the computer for two days, Then we meet back here again on Monday, 4th June. It's a dare. Cuts across the grain. Have a nice weekend! © 2012 Shin ( formerly known as ) Bidayah |
