BamboozledA Poem by Shin ( formerly known as ) Bidayahby Shin
Every once in a while one hears of a bamboozling, Its a deceit, but not anything of the ordinary, It is huge, the size of the world, maybe even god, It slams the brakes and turns an individual on their heels. It produces in the emotions a rejection of all and everything, It is a loss of the minutest ability to accept or believe, It grows, and often comes to enclose our very self, Like a Jonah in the belly of the whale, all impulses but no view. When we examine it closely, it presents some curious facts, Both about ourselves and the world, something we didn't know, About the life of the ordinary man, a father, friend, lover. It hints at strange possibilities of who we are, in the life, It brings to us inquiries about god, the creation, It forces a responsibility on us that we would not Have otherwise believed, it challenges us to create, A world in which there is no strive and no bamboozling, It leaves the magic wand of the creator in our hands, Even guides in areas we may not know much of, And then, past our protests of innocence and no blame, We start to see what a creator god may have seen, How a person would bring light and darkness and weave a life, Which eventually grows into a world, with its ups and downs, Its in us today, in our eyes and in the impulse to love, It draws on our mind to understand it for what it is, Will we? Not today then. Then it tells us, we'll be back.
