The Sophistication of Knowledge

The Sophistication of Knowledge

Our modern text books date from a time,

When the sophists, referred to as wisemen,

Began a tradition of representing the physical

By the use of words of the language they used.

Was not to be taken literally, nor as a substitute

For the act of physical activity. They spoke plainly,

Calling a spade a spade with no intention to insult,

But was in reference to knowledge they possessed,

Where it might be possible to have them account

For what they had said. But it was too blunt,

It borrowed the expressions of a Bidayah.

Where society curbed such impulses, the child was hurt.

It withdrew and was not heard from again for some time,

Till the mother of understanding, cajoled the child to return,

And to persuade the child that what it sees is now termed, ' Holy See,'

And is only engaged in specific applications of faith in communities.

It makes it possible today for a person to speak their mind,

From their impulses, unbridled, but tutored into a guide by mind,

Especially the rationality of human life and the social civility,

It is the sophists tradition and it moves on to becoming sophistication.

The relation between the sophists, the Hagia Sophia and the Indian wise men may need further study. Its a bare all, say all philosophy with the idea of transparency being everything. Certainly something only for the eyes of god. Thank goodness we are coming into some civility as guide on the issues. Socrates would certainly approve....good for Lyon.
