I Forget What Love Is

Love....love....love....yeah, I've forgotten what it is,

Your grandma used to tell me about it, but....hmm,

Romeo and Juliet....now that's a love story, among youth,

But you don't stay young forever. Your grandma told me,

That day, two years after I retired, that there'll be some changes,

Okay, yeah I....I....started to see her as her own person,

The individual that she is. You know why she's great in the garden?

The plants respond to her. The tomatoes, the beans etc. they know her,

And they want to do things for her. Its the life of a woman,

Quite wonderful when you think of it. Its that which I loved when young,

I loved myself and the world....the sky, the trees, the society,

Because I also thought that they reminded me of your grandma,

Then somebody suggested I was only thinking of myself....,

Hmm...Hmm..But that's not true you know. Ask her. If she's not too dizzy,

She'll tell you that in her own way but on the day she tells you that,

She's obliged to be the tiger in the kitchen cooking your steak.

So that's the day you let her be and for her to commune with herself.

A great observation on the fact that love is a volitional experience and we sometimes do forget aspects of that in our daily life. Its a part of everything, it doesn't stand by itself. By the way honey, this is one of mine!
