My Grandpa

My Grandpa

A Poem by Shin ( formerly known as ) Bidayah

Kids share a lot of things,

But they won't share one thing,

That's their grandpa,

He's too important to a child,

Like an oak tree or the sky,

Or the stories he spins for them,

He is the all giving sun,

Nobody shares that.

You are quite right about that. Once we have identified that wellspring of wisdom and love in our lives we seldom want to share it. In the end you just never know how much time you have with them and when they will go. There are so many questions that I wish that I could ask my great-grandmother now that I have matured. This poem brings me back to her again. Thank you for sharing
