Gordian

Gordian

A Poem by Shin ( formerly known as ) Bidayah

A farmer who rose to be a king,

A king who couldn't deal with change,

When Alexander marched across the world,

The Persians, the Indians as much as Gordian,

Couldn't deal with Alexander's dream of one world,

Not yet, would have been the responses of all.

Is it time today? We ask ourselves that,

For there's much more work to be done.

When Alexander brought down his sword on the knot,

It divided our minds in two but did we accept it?

If not, we are bound to go back, look at the two halves,

And decide which half the contents should go to.

Its like the Berlin wall. Hastily constructed overnight,

Now brought down to refine the experience of division,

Rome and Malacca. We are still figuring what goes where.

Finally, it was Alexander himself who retired with his army to Babylon. He may have set the intiative though. Dare we take it up to finish the job? By the way, I think the poem ' Nothis bin Their ' is mine.
