Powder

Powder

A Poem by Shin ( formerly known as ) Bidayah

The term, ' Give me some powder ' has many variations.

In the fort at Auburn, a man asking that, refers to gunpowder,

While a millionaire riding in his Rolls Royce, stops another,

To ask for some Grey Poupon, which is not powder at all,

But a variation of the same theme with regards to vanity.

We find in the human tissue, as with cell specialization,

That the tissue on the face is primed to receive some stimulation,

From the individual, as his commitment to the cause of vanity.

But a beautiful lady, stacked, sitting at a dressing table,

While her husband is in his tug-boat, encircled by the sharks,

Has no reason to ask for some powder, she invents it herself.

But someone carrying powder in a case around their waist,

Is making the ultimate statement on vanity, past any norm,

Its suicidal. Its a one time thing and its going out of style.

You're right--many kinds of powder are going out of style. Not baby powder, though.
