Nothis bin Their

Nothis bin Their

A Poem by Shin ( formerly known as ) Bidayah

When we read something,

Its the ritualization of words,

With meaning that we bring to it.

Sometimes we wonder whether,

It matters at all what we say or do,

When it is mixed with other cultures,

Languages and practices. For instance,

The word bin, means ' son of ' in Arabic,

It is not the first name of a person,

You'll think when we have a loathing,

For someone, at least we are doing it right.

We hear often, the expression popular,

"Know this, been there." Suppose, the sound varies,

If it was expressed with an thick Austrian accent,

Yeah! ' Nothis bin their,' its the sound,

But all of us bring the right meaning to it.

We hear what is being said. No problem!

If we can hear what is meant, it doesn't matter if we hear what is being said.
