The Sleeping Giant Returns

The Sleeping Giant Returns

A Poem by Shin ( formerly known as ) Bidayah

When people tell their tales of the universe,

Inevitably the name of the sleeping giant emerges,

Called Argos, Vishnu, Jinn, Ishtar etc., it's numerous,

But in every one of the tales, its trail leads to the other.

When that happens, a bard becomes pressured for details,

It is here that the angels sing of the bard of words not songs,

That's like what the Americans refer to as poetry, not melody,

It speaks. And it refers to the life of the living. It is alive.

Someone ought to give it a word that best describes it.

As a nation that leads the world today, this is a fine example,

An American poet is in some ways a newspaper journalist,

But he reports on the events and the affairs of the heart,

In the world that we live, its the kingdom that's a role model,

That hasn't changed the last time I looked. It is the here and now.

I found so many different aspects in this, it seemed to be saying so much different things. At first I thought it was saying one thing, but then it went onto a different thing entirely, and then another. But with all the different aspects, the thing before would link in with it, each time another link. So really, as a whole I couldn't find what it was about, but separately I could, and separeately they all linked together. And that's what made me like this.
