A French Contribution

A French Contribution

A Poem by Shin ( formerly known as ) Bidayah

The French have a curious way of making a point,

In the revolution, they took off the heads of the nobles,

Then the heads of all the statues in Paris, calmly,

But when the Third Reich marched in, they let them.

Which inquires about their design of the statue of liberty,

Carrying a torch, with the sun and its rays on the head,

This resembles a fine gentleman in Judah who was a carpenter,

They put thorns on his head and it looks like sun rays!

Well anyway, maybe its just me. Mother is angry with Shin.

She says that's why they call parts of Mongolia, the outer.

It couldn't be further for her at this time, especially,

And she says there's nothing wrong with the statue of liberty.

there is nothing wrong with the statue of liberty; the French gave it to America. France has been somewhat ambivalent, but with good reason.
