Arms and the Bough

Arms and the Bough

A Poem by Shin ( formerly known as ) Bidayah

There's much that comes to be said of the bow,
That it is the pressure that sends the arrow to its mark.
Reference has also been made to the bough of the tree,
The way it carries the flower before it becomes a fruit,
By the way a Minerva weaves her words to fit the puzzle.
But more than all of these, are the arms of the individual,
Raised in application to work, that heals, restores and leads,
That is like the implied humanity on the stained glasses,
Healing itself from its strains and in the process healing others,
Which whispers an informed guide to the man in society today,
Of the new ways, expectant, the way this relates to the golden rule,
That Justus rang the bell with, that its just us, no one else.
From the once and future King that we have always been,
Our songs, words and the wise, may they long endure.
