The Girl in the Citadel

The Girl in the Citadel

A Poem by Shin ( formerly known as ) Bidayah

Love, like an embrace, is all around her,

Yet as she searches for the face,

It is only hers that she finds,

Couched in mystery, hidden in mists,

She struggles to relate to the men,

But finds that all are but a dream of herself,

Made for her, like a universe uncovered,

Waiting for her beckoning and call,

She inquiries as to the fate of the world,

Is told that it is what she experiences,

In her dreams of herself, her hopes for perfection,

She withdraws nervously, this girl, a goddess founting.

Perhaps the answers will come later, slow and reassuring.
