The Hills of Home

The Hills of Home

A Poem by Shin ( formerly known as ) Bidayah

As a village in the suburbs, Bear mountain, is surpringly modern,

It has all the comforts of a society's needs, a mixed community,

Markets, schools, restaurants, cafes and homes, dot the landscape,

I take a walk around the place sometimes, get some air and exercise,

Around the green leafy park, a stone throw from the internet cafe,

Its feels quite wonderful. I think about the Mongolian god Tengri,

And the way that he brings the quality of the proverbial child to us,

How he teaches what he knows and engages our knowledge,

How he relates to the Satyr from a Tsar experience in Russia,

And helps to moderate the impulse of the father in the world.

I think mother would be pleased, knowing that father is comfortable.

Bear Mountain sounds like a wonderful place. And I'm glad to know about the god Tengri, as I was unfamiliar with him before.
