Brother of Abraham

Brother of Abraham

A Poem by Shin ( formerly known as ) Bidayah

The story of Abraham and Isaac, is strained,

The love inherent in our lives is more merciful.

The lamb in the bush that offered itself,

Comes from the affection we share with one other,

It is us. Yes, I think we might die for another!

It is in the nature of the human qualities.

If I were to do it, I'll do it as debt to repay,

For the ages of care and love that the world gave me.

I'm not sure if I have the right to expect a reward.

It's done. I think we are hereafter repaying.

Take me today, if such is the payment I owe.

Or forever leave me in peace to share my love with all.

Very true the words you speak, it is a gift of love we give as our true debt we owe. Very well writen. I find wisdom in your words.

I think what we do for each other earns us good Karma. But your point of view, that good reapys a debt we owe the world is a very good one.
