The Echo

The Echo

A Poem by Shin ( formerly known as ) Bidayah

The lessons of nature in the hands of man,
Creates curious responses in the duality,
Where Shin and Sri engage in thought,
A third comes into the picture like a hairball.
With no rhyme or reason, but an obsession,
Like a third leg, claims a part of the relation.
Its a distortion of rationale from the times of yore,
When the passions led the mind like a goat.
Cultivated reason as love, love as an addiction,
To a mindlessness beyond comparison,
Tossed in the gales like a kite with strings cut,
Using the oral language like a musical instrument,
Only to father suspicion of man as a liar and cheat.
We hear her sometimes, a yaksa, like a lost echo,
To the eros of the man, as he grows into manhood,
To get anything done, the man should do it himself,
Where the joy of life lies in one's own company.
