God the Father

God the father is a wonderful exercise,

In the way that we lump everything esoteric,

On one shelf and realize, we still relate to it.

And its nice to know that we can go to it,

When we need to confer on issues,

Where we don't feel too strange about it.

I wonder how anybody would do this?

Claim that they know everything?

Yah....there have been disappointments ,

But its nice to think that we're doing things right,

From a second opportunity to work at these things.

And you know, you can do this even if you've broken

With the old man....I mean he's still the father,

Maybe, it'll even help him to hear from us.

So, God the father, as an instrument of our faith,

Perhaps to offer a prayer when the trial is highest,

Would help.....where everything else has failed,

Makes a great substitute for the white jacket,

That they dress you in, in the shop of horrors,

Where they feed you nicely colored sweets.

That's the mental institution for the uninitiated.

So, God the father, if you're listening to this,

What say we give it another try?
