Your voice

An old note

I hear your voice in my dreams

 As you hold me under the stars, above the world, 

Whispering me that we don't have much more time, 

Until we'll be again strangers when the sun 

Appears in the sky, taking our chance 

To stay a little longer together, 

Before the miles between us will keep us 

Apart in a world we both hate. 

I miss you so much, and my mind is still 

Remembering your last words when I close my eyes, 

Trying to memorize your one more time your eyes. 

As far as I am living without you, 

I can't imagine myself being with someone else, 

Because you made me see how true love is, 

The fire which still is inside of me When it comes to you.

Don't go because I can't breathe when you aren't around me. 

At every step I take, I look around me to see and run to you

Because you are an escape for me, 

The person I'll always love and want 

Even our lives will have different directions, 

And I'll stay in your past.

I agree dear Bianca. Some people we need near. Even if not a lover.
Don't go because I can't breathe when you aren't around me.

I dated a woman from Poland back when it was still Socialist. I met her here when she was an exchange student. This poem reminds me of that relationship...The first time she went back home we didn't know if she could come back...but she did for six weeks in the summer. We had a wonderful time...
made love the morning she went back...and that was it...the distance just wore us down....
and the relationship ended without actually ending.
I still have really strong memories of Maria.
I really felt this poem.

It's such a heart-wrenching feeling when you want someone or love someone, but your path isn't built for that. You explained that perfectly and I felt that pain. Sometimes fior a multitude of reasons we can't be with the one we love. Paths diverge, but the feelings remain. That person will become a sweet memory in the past eventually while life goes on. Sounds easy, but before that happens there will be some heartache. You convey your feelings well.
