Soul AdieuA Poem by RebaAbout losing someone you love. In this case, likely a soulmate.
Wisked away as a dogwood's blossom
Your soul moved on and has since forgotten All the times we laughed and smiled, All the tunes your merry heart composed, All the leisures which life bestowed. The past is gone as times of old. It's deaf ear now listens to silence-- As the pain inside steps back in relent. Your parting hath brought not a solace; Nor a sweet moment to mark in time; But only loneliness, grief, sorrow, and crying. Because death gave your soul this. Your soul now soars on silver wings; Though it's left me with your earthly things. You thought not once to take me with. Then though Heaven's decree may not allow, You took with you my heart somehow. For with you gone, earth has no bliss. Your soul took thought in Heaven one day; Try as I might to make it stay, No plea of mine could change it so; Not can it being you back to me. So this is my last longing plea-- May God also call my soul to Home. © 2016 RebaAuthor's Note
