Toughen Up

Toughen Up

A Poem by Beverly Jane
"

Pick up that head.

"

Silly girl, whip away those tears.

Princess, put that mask on you call make up.

Cover those tears.

Fix that hair, pull down those sleeves.

Hide those scars.

Flutter those eyes, get what you want.

Toughen up.

Eyes aren’t for crying, beauty isn’t for the depressed.

Stand up straight, chest out, stomach in.

Emotions not shown, only for you to know.

Princess, pick up that head.

Whip that nose.

Those tears for you to only know.

Stand up, dust your self off.

Stand up, silly girl toughen up.
