Guardian Angel

Guardian Angel

A Poem by Beuastykg
"

Scene of suicide.

"
The trees disappear behind me and the cliff comes into view
My heart begins to pound, knowing what I will do.

I feel my feet half on land half on air as a cool wind blows in face;
the trees and grass dance with the stars as I stay in place.

The moon looks down and begs me to stop
 as a tear falls down I look over the top.

It’s a long way down as far as can see;
a bird is startled out of its tree.

So far down, moonlight can't even reach,
cannot see the bottom, my mind begins to preach:

You have so much to live for, so much left to do
So much left to see, so much left to say, too.

I slowly take a step; all becomes calm.
My tears hit the ground and sweat wets my palm.

Just as I let go I'm snatched from the edge;
 you hold me close and pull me from the ledge.
