how a poem comes to be...

how a poem comes to be...

A Poem by Betweenthekeys
"

This is a poem that attempts to explain my writing process...most of the time.

"

sentiments pour out

because my shattered, stifled, soul must release these things.

i can't feel my fingers

but they are moving across the keys

and making words i don't always understand

somehow fit together

they form sorted thoughts

that once passed on waves across my brain;

synapse-skimming, sorted thoughts,

that demand a place to rest.

-but i can't rest

and I can't breathe

until they find properly placed peace on this paper.

wrenching word rhythms beat inside...

deep, burrowing, beats pound out!

...and rest one beat

and pound again

to transform into a pulse on a page

in perfect meter.

can you feel it too?

did you ever make something that you both loved and hated

but couldn't live without ?

A good poem about how difficult it is to get the words right, and how when a poem is finished you always find mistakes or things you don`t understand.Good work.
