Lizzie’s Daily Ditties One

Lizzie’s Daily Ditties One

A Poem by Betty green
"

Every day I write two lines that rhyme about my life.

"
My life in two lines
That need to rhyme

Tougher COVID curbs more gloom
Infiltrating every pore and living room

They say write whatever comes to mind
Well this feels like the end of mankind

Telephone appointment with GP
This is how it is and going to be

The only reason I’m not talking through my hat
Is that I have a cat

The boys and girls came out to play
When they should have stayed away

Pubs, friends, midnight flittings
All slim pickings

Collective endeavour wearing thin
Too many of us missing sin

Today I had a dream
About what should have been

Cheer up things could be worse
Makes me want to curse

Exercising the demons and emotions in words takes the weights of life off for the moment. Poetry is a great way to do. Powerful lines after the other each colliding with an explosion of intensity almost like a rap song. Loved it though.. keep writing sincerely your friend in poetry and life
