Lizzie’s Daily Ditties OneA Poem by Betty greenEvery day I write two lines that rhyme about my life.
My life in two lines
That need to rhyme Tougher COVID curbs more gloom Infiltrating every pore and living room They say write whatever comes to mind Well this feels like the end of mankind Telephone appointment with GP This is how it is and going to be The only reason I’m not talking through my hat Is that I have a cat The boys and girls came out to play When they should have stayed away Pubs, friends, midnight flittings All slim pickings Collective endeavour wearing thin Too many of us missing sin Today I had a dream About what should have been Cheer up things could be worse Makes me want to curse © 2020 Betty greenAuthor's Note
