Imagination

Imagination

A Poem by Rebecca K Pavia

A beautiful creature, full of promise
Yet twisted, it takes you to its lair
Guiding you, leading you, by the hand
Dragging you, pulling you by the hair.

Kicking and screaming, you follow it in
As your soul becomes its willing feast
Escape is an option you know you should try
As you recline there, chatting with the beast.

Meandering through dreams, on its open wings
Eternity seems but a passage in time
Frozen, forgetful and lost in its shade
Should you remain, you’ll drown in sublime.

Extending your hand with a tentative will
You grasp at the edges a little too late
Swirling and tumbling, you fall at its feet
Smiling, eyes sparkling, you succumb to your fate.

Don't we all? Succumb to our fate I mean.Wonderfully dark and mysterious, leaving imagination to run wild.
