This poem highlights themes of brilliance and chaos, activism and isolation, and the cyclical nature of her highs and lows. Ultimately, it reflects on the fragility of mental health and the societal perceptions that accompany it.
A very well written, short yet meaningful one.
Thanks for sharing.

Betty,
Sometimes I think of that belt of asteroids between mars ands Jupiter... millions of them, each with it's own history, none of them able to tell... Not that different from her wild brain bouncing off her neighbors who are also inflicted with similar ravings. Your poem is a loose biography of each of us, plowing through space and time, ricochetting from one crisis to the next, then floating alone in the cosmos with only ourselves to contemplate what it all means. But what I love most is this reminder of those days when my friends would gather at our favorite Nashville cigar bar and discuss your subject and a thousand others over tobacco and craft beers...

HI Vol, a very informative and personal review!
Thank you for the PROMPT!
Warmly, B
Such sadness within your powerful, superbly set poem, Betty. There are people wearing this cloak, one.. two.. maybe more, locked in one body... mind exclusive, thoughts tied in knots or flying space. You have sensed, perhaps seen or closely known this troubled being, part of society, part often condemned as 'odd' Can't say more having read three times. YOU are more than a writer.. you are an empathic pointing finger who says, this could be you.

Hugs back. Will find you as soon as I can. Take care of you. Please
Hi Betty, sounds to me like you've described, so grippingly and eloquently, bi-polar. I guess we all know someone who suffers from it, going on and off their meds, poor souls.

My love of poetry results from my love of art. As a painter I am able to express myself on a canvas. As a poet my words come from my heart, my moods, sometimes sad, mostly upbeat. I like to use vivid .. more..
