WEEPING WILLOWS

WEEPING WILLOWS

A Poem by Betty Hermelee
"

exercise mind and body

"

Such a fine day to lift my spirits

ti’s springtime and there is a faint scent

of perfume in the refreshing breeze

I am inside a stunning green park

with old wooden fences around it

where one can meander on different paths

I choose a path marked red on a tree trunk

with Weeping Willow trees bordering it

and try to move at an adequate speed

therefore, my baby and I secure plenty of physical exertion

the doctor reveals that this is healthy for both of us

Whilst I walk, my mind wanders to my future incessantly

a mix of hopefuls and apprehension

I trust all expectant mothers carry some unease

about motherhood and what to foresee

the disquiet, as you know, regards raising

a child alone

this does not contradict my competence

I prefer that my baby shall have a father who loves him as much as I do

perchance I shall be fortuitous to encounter a fine

gentleman who has no covert timeline

it would be lovely to meet someone who would fill those shoes

regrettably, my soldier still with amnesia at hospital

I offer a prayer each day this onset shall resolve

I have the notion they will not keep him  at greater length

thus, t is potentially ruinous for me

Enough  petulance for now!

At once I glance at my watch  and to my dismay

it is well past lunch time

in a lovely wooded setting ,attempting to be fit

it is no wonder I lost track of time

I must admit the walking works miracles in musing

about life

I am not terribly hungry at this moment

yet I must consider my baby’s needs

I am now back in the park area where I shall find a café

and hopefully dine on healthy food

The musings of a pregnant mother and the uncertainty that the situation brings are evident in this poem. A psychological write for sure. Nicely done Betty.

Betty Hermelee,
Being engulfed in nature is just the ticket in so many ways. You received sustenance of peace within this cathedral of beauty. Having a nice meal later is all the more enjoyable. I was tickled with the story feel of this writing. A baby on the way with all that entails. It brought back memories for me too. Thanks for sharing yours.
Blessings,
Kathy

dear Betty... perhaps a predawn sip of Natures dew will give you and your baby a morning filled with reverence to carry you both to an entrance of solitude for every Mood. gently, Pat

hmm. not a bad place to unwind, relax and do some thinking. the physical and spiritual. i love willow trees - growing up, we had a big one in the middle of our yard like a giant umbrella. she's doing everything for two now, maybe three! the saga continues ...

Betty, it sounds like a very good place to wander around The weeping Willow trees and get your self lost in time
The beauty, and fresh air should do well for you and your child
I do hope that you will find a suitable person to love and care fro you and your child.
