MOON LOVEA Poem by Betty Hermeleereach highWhen i was a little girl I would sit on our stoop after we had our supper and I would look for the moon Sometimes it disappeared and I was sad other times it was tiny but I remember on a very clear night the moon was big and round and it looked very close to me so close i held up my arms so high I could almost touch it could not take my eyes off of it so real and so many spots on it I was so excited, I ran inside the house and told my mommy that I almost touched the moon she told me that some day people might visit the moon my eyes popped I was so amazed I went back outside but this time a cloud passed by I waited and there it was once more then reached and reached and I said to myself, maybe some day I can visit the moon too
