nice piece of work - carries a meaningful image of the conscientiousness of a child in the womb, lovely wording of wonder, expectation, and comfort. Well done, dear poet. -carl

"my arms and legs push and pull
like a frog gliding in a shallow stream"
So sweet the little foetus stretching her limbs in a lovely warm pool of jelly , safe and content.
A little heartbeat, that says all is well in this tiny world of hers as she awaits her delivery ..
Aww, gorgeous images here Betty ...

My pleasure Betty, i keep seeing this little life all cosy and wriggling in strawberry jello 🍓
Dear Betty, I have heard of floating on air (floated on air a few times myself, lol...) but I have never heard of floating on Jello, it seems too thick a substance to float. The final verse in the poem leads me to believe a beautiful new life is about to be born and that you have written about a very precious little Baby Boy or Girl while they are still in their Mammy's tummy! Your use of metaphor + your finely penned descriptive words took me right back to a place I too, once knew, but now have no memory of. You have captured per-birth superbly in this very wonderful poem, dear Betty! I so enjoyed reading and offer you Heartiest Congratulations on the birth of this very gripping poem! Thank you for sharing, Betty. Lovely work!

So pleased, dear Betty. Thank you for kindly letting me know...
Ah the symbolism in your poetry absorbed with so many meanings, it exactly feels like an infant's predicament told of poetically and sweet as one of an innocent child making everything in its perspective sweet, the last stanza rather reflects a lot on the baby preparing to come through to see the world, love how everything is connected to this premature life and it's connection with the divine universe guiding it. Loved this unique poem with such immaculate details my friend 💐

Floating in Jello....what a concept! Not being able to escape and yet perfectly comfortable. Perhaps the rope is the umbilical cord? So many ways to interpret your words in this one. Well written. Lydi**

Me too Neville; Thank you so much for a very creative review, appreciated!

Perhaps if it could talk, this is how a fetus would describe its experience. It actually doesn't sound like a bad gig at all. Total feeling of security, sleeping when you want to, floating continually in strawberry jello. Then there are the sounds of melodies announcing the big event. Things are gonna change radically, kid.

Dear John, you;re right on the mark!! A great review
Thank you!

Pre-birth set in a true, almost theatrical way, Betty, yet reads as near as it is. Extreme and literaly raw writing. How it is, lost or found, reality and more. Academically created but - with extraordinary imagination.
'A rope is attached to me
thus, I do not get bemused
in this syrupy abyss
as I tend to sleep often
it also nourishes me'

Read again: it is a very.. emotionally charged creation. You are much the same, Betty.
A sweet goey world, a slippery slope, gentle melodies follow. Wow!
Sounds like the rope pulling the author is fraying slowly.
Perhaps it is her, perhaps it is the person, perhaps it is the universe.

My love of poetry results from my love of art. As a painter I am able to express myself on a canvas. As a poet my words come from my heart, my moods, sometimes sad, mostly upbeat. I like to use vivid .. more..
