CELESTIAL DANCE

CELESTIAL DANCE

A Poem by Betty Hermelee
"

cosmic party

"

Magic dust from the cosmos

sprinkles its dwellers

scatters glitter of all hues

to stain the moon blue

rising sun orange

blinking stars a pale yellow

planets a deep plum

together they rejoice

in a celestial dance

until they fade into

mere shadows of a black night

This poem captures the enchanting beauty of the cosmos with simplicity and grace, creating an almost mystical atmosphere. The imagery of *“magic dust from the cosmos”* that *“scatters glitter of all hues”* brings to mind a cosmic artist painting the night sky in vibrant colors—each celestial body uniquely tinted. Lines like *“stain the moon blue”* and *“planets a deep plum”* emphasize the vividness and diversity of the universe, while the closing lines—*“fade into / mere shadows of a black night”*—add a note of transience, reminding us of the fleeting nature of this cosmic display.

The poem’s sense of awe and reverence for the cosmos, along with its delicate, color-focused imagery, evokes the style of poets like Carl Sandburg and Mary Oliver. Both have a way of finding wonder in the natural world while acknowledging its ephemerality. Overall, this is a lovely, meditative piece that invites readers to imagine the universe as a colorful, living tapestry, constantly shifting and disappearing into the night.

Aw…..very sweet💕
A very beautiful poem and picture to go with it.
This poem seeks to celebrate the beauty and wonder of the universe while reminding readers of the inevitable passage of time and the fading of experiences.

I really enjoyed this poem,

Also take good care of yourself after that surgery I know it will be a tough on, my aunt had broken hers and it wasn't an easy journey, still isn't easy.
Keep well dear.

There is an incredible work of imagery going on there in these few lines, loved reading of the colours blending into together while dancing with each other, it seems to be such a wizardry to be part of, beautifully written piece of poem there my friend.
