HIDEOUT

HIDEOUT

A Poem by Betty Hermelee
"

fearing the cosmos, intimacy

"

HIDEOUT

Skin to skin

fever to fever

they lay upon an open meadow

eyelashes near a touch

whispers, giggles, and frolics

Corner of a lens

they catch the moon with a smirk

stars with a wink

bashful, they collect their belongings

and race toward the forest

where they hide in their intimacy

Alone, breathless from run

they flop and slump on leafy earth

into each other’s arms

albeit clumsily, yet sure to accomplish their intentions

At dawn they awaken in warm caress

from their dozy eyes they view a clementine sky

with hues of plum seep through the branches

like a rumba dance

they linger in the thick

in fear of the sun’s discontent

You're very welcome, Betty! :)
What a lovely poem, painted a perfect picture.

The imagery of catching the moon and stars adds a whimsical and romantic element to your poem.

The poem has a smooth and rhythmic cadence that enhances the romantic atmosphere.

Thank u for sharing,

You're welcome dear.
There is Magic to the Sunrise when Nature wakes and Birds flutter with Wings of hopeful resolutions... we sing with Sparrows and Meadow Larks... while Angels with their Harps guide our Day. I love the Clementine Sky with hues of plum. The last few lines is in celebration of an awakening of a new beginning with a Junior Senator to bring energy and fortitude to the Hope of a better tomorrow. softly, Pat

I think having now read these words over and over, back on back that this is one of your finest works that so obviously fall outside of your epic @ Bridges End .. I have yet to finish that of course, but I shall .. in the meantime tho' I congratulate you and your pen Betty .. Neville
