THE GENTLEMAN

THE GENTLEMAN

A Poem by Betty Hermelee
"

I AM BACK!!! a snapshot of the RIVER in all its magnificence!

"

THE GENTLEMAN

The Blue Danube waltzes its way

Through the heart of Germany

To the banks of the Black Sea

A dancer with a triple twirl

Bends and twists past granite and

Sandstone

Regal and dignified

Ancient rock carvings and etchings

Cling to its shores

The RIVER OF GOD according to myth

Colors transforms from Cerulean blue

To faded jeans

Its gentle glide mesmerizes the spirit

Settles the soul

A humming rhythm

As it rides the cadences

And folds under starlit nights

Bearing the sun’s reflection at high noon

The gentleman of waterways

A heritage of marvels

Beautiful work. In between the lines lay some secret magic that soothes the mind and heals the soul. It was a pleasure to read.

Sounds lovely, but I must warn you not to try what I did if ever visiting Amsterdam.
I stopped at a local coffee shop and after some lovely coffee and a chocolate brownie, I left and all the pavements had melted and I very nearly drowned! 😊
I felt better after about three days in bed though, once I stopped hearing the wastepaper bins growling, munching and demanding to be fed!
Oh and Willkommen zurück, as I believe they say in those parts. 😊

somethings can be bought so simply, but I'm to see what makes this write so defiant, its your words that makes it something to read.
