EYES OF OCEAN AND GRASS

EYES OF OCEAN AND GRASS

A Poem by Betty Hermelee
"

unique, mesmerizing eyes

"

EYES OF OCEAN AND GRASS

In my years I have only seen different eye color in animals

yet your eyes mesmerize me

one like sea grass and the other aqua ocean blue

rare, unmatched, beguiling, seductive

the sunlight reflects to expose sincere hues and shimmer

Allow me to marvel at them

with flutter in my gut and goosebumps on my skin

I wonder if there is a tale behind

what do these breathtaking eyes reveal?

May I gently touch your brow

with utmost care

while I gaze at the kaleidoscope of color

on your suntan face?

do not flinch from fright

as I am awestruck at your breathtaking sight

Perhaps when we discover each other’s charms

and inner cores

you shall disclose your narrative to me

in my arms

under a weeping willow tree

a great new poem B. opening verse is an artist's brush at work. entire poem is a reader's meal, but your closing line is so grand, like finding an extra cherry on top of the last slice of cake. really enjoyed my read

Nature has a way of creating beautiful art whether it be trees, flowers or people. But, Betty has a way of creating beautiful art with her poetry. Really nice my friend.

Beautiful reading, I was captive by it..

I don't know if you do this to, but I love observing people..
At the airport, I always make up stories in my head about all those that I observe.

I wonder about the trips they are making and why..

I wondered about everything that had transpired in their lives thus far..
and who they really are verses the faces that they show to the World.

Anyway, I really enjoyed this write,
and the woman it is about is beautiful too.

You are very welcome :))
A nice tribute to a person's unusual eye color. I like the ending about embracing under the weeping willow tree. Details like that add a lot to a poem. Until that phrase, I wondered if there were romantic feelings for the person. Then I thought there was.

hmm, seagrass and ocean blue - highly descriptive and intriguing. i have seen people with such eyes although something you don't see very often. they say that the eyes are the windows to the soul. an intriguing, mesmerizing write. only time will tell ... :)

"each other’s charms
and inner cores"
I find this as the most unassuming and stunning expression here. That humans have outer charms and inner cores. Intriguing like every other line and stanza of this remarkable piece
