As I meander to my cabin

A bit tipsy, I might say

Befuddled from the demeanor

In the dining room

I, unerringly, slump on the bed

My mind disordered

With a faint headache

 

I drift off for some time

Later, as I dress in my bed clothes

A sudden notion dawns upon me

What is the next phase with this gentleman?

Who seems to be infatuated with me

A long voyage is ahead

Shall I disengage with him promptly?

Or quieten down and keep calm?

I prefer not to pain him

 

The captain’ s dinner terrifies me

As I shall be unveiled with my shipmates

Observing now two at the table

With chit chat at hand

 

Oh, pity me

Why did I return that smile?

First and foremost

I shall not chastise myself

My only desire is to arrive safely in London

And go straight on to hospital

Where my darling soldier shall be surprised to see me

If I sleep well tonight

I may awaken with a different mindset

About the captain’s dinner

I'm loving the series, dear Betty. This part deepens the plot. The association has begun to weigh on her mind and perhaps conscience. A tussel has begun with the self. Is she attracted to the new entrant? Is she perhaps, being swayed away from her existing relationship? All these questions intrigue the mind and grip me to the story. I loved it and cannot wait for what comes next.

Sleepon it. That's what I always do. Sometimes I do it so well I sleep through the dinner entirely and hey, problem solved.
Dining in company is fraught with danger for me too Betty. I never know if I'm meant to chit or chat, end up freaking out about it and just order in a dominoes instead. But I guess it's harder to do when on a cruise. And the pizza would be soggy when it gets there too.
On second thoughts, go for dinner, because otherwise you might starve.
