Clouds do resent the sun. That evil orb always trying to vaporize them, can't blame 'em. Best to keep the sun in its place ... behind them. Better for us in these overheated days. You paint this struggle well. And what an amazing photograph!

A belated thank you for a thoughtful review.

I am continually impressed by your lexicon. I think this is one of your better poems as I have a strong bias against antiquated language which here you avoided with sterling results I might add.

Your posted image is inspiring, as are your descriptive stanzas Betty. Nothing like studying the heavens in all her moods. A very atmospheric write of a storm scene. Very nicely penned in brooding tones of colour. All good wishes.

From an historical perspective, blue has always done it for me .. how I envy those whose eyes still permit them to sip it slow and to drink it it .. Indeed, the cosmos will always fascinate those who think, who dream, desire and write poetry .. Brava dear friend and poet ... AGT's .. Neville

we are inextricably linked with nature - we each bare the color of our moods ... :)
Your poem is a beautiful and evocative description of a stormy day, with its "eclectic canvas of resentful clouds" and "euphony of thunder." The use of imagery, such as the sun quivering behind dancing shadows and the mist ascending drowsily, creates a vivid sense of atmosphere and mood. The final lines, "thus, I rest the paintbrush on my chaotic palette," add a sense of closure and finality to the poem, as if the speaker has captured the storm's energy and intensity on canvas. You have a gift for using language to create rich and immersive sensory experiences. Keep up the great work!

I knew even before the final lines this one could only have been written by a painter. You can almost feel the concentration on how to hold the brush to capture the scene. That is, by the way, a striking accompanying picture. If I saw something like that coming toward me, I'd do a rapid u-turn and lay the pedal to the metal until that monster was far out of my rear view mirror.

My love of poetry results from my love of art. As a painter I am able to express myself on a canvas. As a poet my words come from my heart, my moods, sometimes sad, mostly upbeat. I like to use vivid .. more..
