AND THEN...

AND THEN...

A Poem by Betty Hermelee
"

questionable ending; take your pick

"

AND THEN...

Rich blue flames fly near and far

whoosh

red balloon soars

into the unknown aquamarine

ascends among misty clouds

glides smoothly

a few bumps in the unpolished air

champagne bottles burst, spray

bubbles laughter, thrills

Journeys in time

notable moments, without a care

trees, fields of Rape

diminish to the naked eye

tranquil then jolts during tempests

balloon descends over treetops

passengers shriek with cheers or fears

and then…

I very much like watching them in flight Betty. Not so sure I would want to be up there though. Haven’t got much of a head for heights. Must be wonderful looking down on the ground though, if you are brave enough to dare. A wonderful read. Thank you so much.

Love your new avatar Betty. A charming you.
One must be so brave to go up in a balloon, in the unknown sky. A euphoric ascent to great heights, the fields and the expanses below, a timeless scape in the mind. But how the heart would lurch with the unruly gusts of wind, a steep descent. I could sense the thrill and excitement and also the suspense in your words. A poem, an adventure I enjoyed, absolutely.

Wonderful journey. Left me wistful though. I wish I knew how this one ended. But it guess the fun compensates for the risk of taking such a journey

If this is a journey in time, (away from 'The Bridge??) better make a list and check it twice!
Very few, if any, 'facilities' way up there
Have a super flight BESTB

I like the title and as an ending to this wonderful poem. It sparks imagination. I always wanted to ‘soar into the unknown aquamarine’ what a perfect and beautiful line that is. A journey in time indeed with all its peaks and valleys. I wish I did this when I was in the Loire Vally in France. Your poem took me there. What a wonderful experience to have. Exciting. A beautifully written poem my friend.
