BLANK PAGE

As I step into my house

I sense a swell of exhaustion

My back and neck twinge

From my spell in the woods

Though I must agree twas an electrifying escapade

At this moment I discern grief in my void

A vacuity that sustains and resists any relief

T’is my round to write to my soldier

I waver about unveiling my truthful

Sentiments to him

As his expectations are divergent

Should I be sincere about

My dreadful life without him?

Or should I be proper and foolishly

Act the consummate fiancé

In wait for his return?

A blank page glares at me

I cannot pen a single word

Muddles with my notions

My hand trembles in disarray

My heart quivers with bewilderment

I shall take a breather

Absorb some fresh air

While I mull over my words

and perhaps another walk in the woods...those elusive words might come from the rustling of the leaves...you just didn't hear them the first time.
but if you listen closely, they will come.

Thank you for your very poetic review! much appreciated1
Best, B
Sometimes writing our thoughts, our feelings, our worries and our fears is much harder than telling someone in person. You can't read the expression on their face and maybe change course midstream on a conversation if it is a letter sent. I can feel the apprehension on the part of our heroine here in this nice next installment.

If in doubt, write nowt. This poem speaks to me about mixed emotions Betty. A time I think to gather thoughts carefully before responding. An excellent write. Truth is important where relationships are concerned.
