I HEAR THEM WHISPERA Poem by Betty HermeleeWhat time remainsI HEAR THEM WHISPER
Time is sumptuous shadows follow me scattered years remain I hear them whisper “Do not squander precious measures survive”
I tremble from dismay what is the span? I must articulate my farewells to all I cherish
Alone, sans famille I ought to explore what the universe bestows upon me
Cumulus clouds move with my rhythm at times sluggish, or haste sun swathes me with energy in season I ogle the sway of dark green leaves the buzz of bumble bees kaleidoscope of flower gardens butterflies skip among them gentle breeze kisses my lips
I square all debts in my time straight off if my clock halts my life shan’t be futile
