ROSE LIPS

ROSE LIPS

A Poem by Betty Hermelee
"

An unusual encounter

"

ROSE LIPS

A pale gray face of deep expression

Yet with a notion

Vivid red-orange hair

Thick and sexy

One side overlays her forehead

Color wheel outfit

Camel coat

Green sweater peeks out at the neck

Green and plaid scarf

Rose lips, bottom faintly unfurled

He observes all this attraction

With a peculiar smile

As he crosses a busy street

Her purse slips off her shoulder midway

He dashes to retrieve it

As he trails her to the curb

After a brief encounter of discomfort

He endeavors to begin a short conversation

Closer, as he peers into her ice blue eyes

Her rose lips part without a word

He smiles, she in return, nods

He notes her resplendence, novel

Unlike….

She alights with her eyes

Lips shift without tone

Merely short breaths

He understands….

Fetches her arm

All the way, the sun catches their shadows

As the two vanish down the sidewalk

Such colorful description here Betty. This scene played out like a movie in the cinema. I just needed popcorn: And the ending had a touch of mystery. What was about to take place? I felt some mutual attraction here:)Intriguing write my friend.

Very colorful encounter too. This felt like poetic noir. A still from an old movie. I like how diverse the subjects are in your poems.

Ah that's the mystery Dave...use your clever imagination....and thanks for the review? BESTB
Some would say this is a successful pickup, but I rather suspect it is actually an entrapment. I don't believe that purse slipped off her shoulder by accident. Whatever, lucky guy.

The words above. Perfect. When two are excited by the softness of kind nods, icy blue eyes. Rosy lips. A lucky man was given a gift. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry for love.

You are welcome dear Betty.
This is lovely. The clear understanding of one another and the apparent love is heartwarming. The descriptions are beautiful and I particularly loved ‘color wheel outfit.’ But her pants are missing! lol I’m just kidding. I really loved the emotion and the clear longing and very vivid descriptions that paint such a clear image in my head. Thank you for sharing this lovely piece.
