RIB-TICKLERS

RIB-TICKLERS

A Poem by Betty Hermelee
"

A good laugh is worth....

"

RIB-TICKLERS

Laughter is cosmic

With far reach to the planets

High hoots, low chortles

Cacophony of clangs

Life exudes mirth

Whilst the mind claims the mood

Like figures en-lace, jest

Under silken sheets

Laughter swings to anguish

As clouds of despondence hover uninterrupted

Colorless neurons blanket the psyche

Haze the milieu

Like blindness on the river

The eminence of chuckle

Ought to rustle the brain

To change its course

Like a lost ship at sea

Revert to stellar oaths

Bestow rib-ticklers a taste

Once more

I seem to recall the spiritual writer Alan Watts describing a laughing meditation, and I believe there is proven evidence that laughter is good for your health. I don't think too many comedians die young.

Thank you my poet friend, a great review!

There's nothing quite like a good giggle to get a lady into bed... Trouble is when I get between the sheets the laughter gets hysterical.
It's just as well I'm not that sensitive or I might start taking it personally 😊
