RENAISSANCE MANA Poem by Betty Hermeleea snapshot of a loved one...RENAISSANCE MAN
Eleven years bygone yet I see him undeniably in my mind’s eye he floats from one side to the other though he never ceases to exist
My mentor, my best friend, my cheerleader my savior, my dad a kindhearted, gifted renaissance man his mind moved swiftly to tend to his business, his crafts and his family he was a master of all three and still preserved a dysfunctional home
His genius endured in painting, poetry and music fingers danced on the piano devoid of a glance along with a croon of memorable songs of his time
As he aged, life evolved into an internal struggle his deafness at middle age blindness as an elderly kidnapped his gifts of life yet he persevered, crippled by his ailments he saw the light in his mind and died peacefully at ninety-four his own poem engraved
on his stone. © 2022 Betty HermeleeAuthor's Note
