SPLASH FROM THE DEEP

SPLASH FROM THE DEEP

A Poem by Betty Hermelee
"

rising to the top

"

SPLASH FROM THE DEEP

My muse speaks of ….

The downfall of my cloud-gray psyche

soaked, drips of sorrow

bottomless pit of despair

of my own faults

She takes note of the orange moon

radiant stars

sanctions worthy spirits

which will splash from the deep

Blue befits an opalescent violet

of dusk and dawn

in lieu of interstellar blue of far planets

and unfathomable oceans

Yield to illumination of life

sense the yellow-green hue of pastures

wild medley of blossoms

hark to symphonies of song birds

heed the eerie of ghosts, though harmless

Enamor with a pleasing maiden

coalesce, reveal your sincerity

think back to the dark depths

and never retreat twice over.

I'm enamored with this medley of color. The 'blue befits' stanza was amazing! Poetic gold! We need a telescope that can search the deepest waters. We might find even more amazing things than we find in the sky!

Your muse is using pens of many colours Betty. If she can lift you from the doldrums then I say she is a blessing.

Hark to symphonies of song birds and I say, yes please to that. Nice writing dear Betty.

Thank you for your kind review!
Rising from the depths can be a scary and dangerous undertaking. We can soon find ourselves flying or swimming beyond our reach, or out of our depth. But when the muse calls we have to try! Sometimes we can surprise ourselves, and achieve things we never thought ourselves capable of! I can relate to this poem, Betty! I'm sure many others can too! You made a big artistic splash here!

those depths can be visited once....but I doubt we want to revisit....even though the memories are good food for writing...
and it is so much easier to write Blue than Happy, isn't it?

any time a write gets past the bread and butter category , I am usually lost.
in this particular scenario I can at least see the connection between artist and poet.
I enjoyed the many color references and hope there were no injuries involved bestB

It was the muse who urged rising from the depths to engage in life! Thanks for your review Dave

Wow Betty! This seems a real 'splash from the deep' for you and I think you are trying something a bit more abstract. It is choc full of lovely images! I wish I had the courage and ability to try something like this.
All the best,
Alan
